History of Organization
After many conversations with family and friends, I finally put my dream into action. I have always had a desire to make a difference in the community. I enjoy working with kids especially young girls. In today's society there is always a need for positive role models and meaningful social interaction.
Studies conducted in the United States have shown that young people with mentors were:
• 46 percent less likely to begin using illegal drugs,
• 27 percent less likely to begin using alcohol,
• 52 percent less likely to skip school and
• 33 percent less likely to hit someone (Big Brothers/Big Sisters 1995).
A 2002 Louis Harris Poll found that:
• 73 percent of students said their mentors helped raise their goals and expectations,
• 87 percent went to college or planned to attend college within two years of graduation,
• 59 percent of mentored students improved their grades and
• 87 percent said they felt some benefit from their mentoring relationship.

Heaven's Gyrlz, Inc. was founded earlier this year. It is a source of motivation and affirmation for girls 3rd thru 5th grade. We will encourage them to set goals, achieve those goals, and strive to reach their fullest potential. It is our intent to prepare these individuals for life's challenges through peer groups, mentoring, and social interactions.
